Ms. Yang holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Costume and Textiles from the University of California, Davis. She continues to expand her knowledge and skills by learning new techniques from masters, colleagues, and peers.
Lylena Yang has participated in several fashion shows including Fresh Traditions and Hmong Nouveau in Minnesota, Work that Catwalk in San Francisco, and the 2019 Hmong National Development Conference in San Jose. She has also worked with Hmong Story 40 as a Fashion Co-Lead and this experience has given her more appreciation for the different traditional techniques and recognize the importance and significance of Hmong motifs and textiles.
